Spa Pedicure Tutorial using the Hot Towel Method

The hot towel method has become a popular process of doing a relaxing spa pedicure. After all, relaxation and comfort is something we all want when we indulge ourselves in a spa pedicure treatment.

Here is all that you might want to know about a rejuvenating spa pedicure using the hot towel method:

Spa Pedicure Steps:

A spa pedicure is easy and does not consume much time. The ingredients required are all available in the market.

So, these are the 10 easy steps to beautiful feet in just 30 minutes:

1.Remove Nail polish:

Do not forget to clean your feet before starting with the pedicure. First, remove every strain of old nail polish using a cotton pad soaked in an acetone free nail paint remover. Be careful while doing the corners. The removers with acetone are good at doing off with the stubborn colours but will leave your nails extremely dry.

2. Give yourself a luxury treatment while soaking your feet:

Soak your feet in a small tub of lukewarm water for about 10 minutes. Soaking helps soften your feet. You can add some Epsom salt or scented oils. The salt will soothe your feet while the oil moisturizes them.

3. Remove dead skin:

Remove the dead skin from your toes and around your feet. Cleaning off the dead skin facilitates blood circulation in feet. Use a pumice stone to do so. Rub the pumice stone gently around the target areas. Then soak your feet in lukewarm water.

4. Wrap the Hot Towel:

The hot towel treatment basically moisturizes your skin and softens it to undergo the cuticle removal treatment. So prepare two soft towels by dipping them in warm water and then straining off the water. This will leave with the perfect hot towels required for the pedicure. Now wrap the towels around your feet like shoes. Relax for the next 5 minutes.

5. Push back the cuticles:

Use cuticle removal oil on your nail bed first and then using a cuticle removal tool, push back the cuticles against the direction of growth of nails. Follow the step in both your feet. Trust me; the cuticle removal tool never hurts.

6. Shape your nails:

Using a good clipper, size your toe nails the way you want. Cut from the edges as well, as that prevents breaking nails. File them to smooth the edges. Using a nail buffer available in the market, shine your nails by rubbing them in a horizontal direction.

7. Exfoliate:

A good exfoliating scrubber is necessary for this step. Wet your feet and limb and then apply the scrubber in circular motion. Continue massaging with this for about 2-3 minutes. Then wash off the scrubber in the warm water itself and then pat them dry with a clean towel.

8. Moisturise:

Make sure your feet are dry before doing this. Apply a moisturizer or a mild foot cream on your legs and feet. Apply the moisturizer in upward motion. For better results, one may also use a foot mask.

9. A Final Touch:

Before going on to apply the nail polish, wipe off the extra moisturiser using a dry tissue. Then dip a earbud in the nail polish remover. Clean the corner of the nails once again with the bud.

10. Apply nail polish:

End your self pampering process by applying your favourite colour. Apply a good base coat first. Let it dry. Then apply two coats of the desired colour. Start with the middle of the nail moving towards the tip. Then cover the corners with one stroke each. Apply another coat of the top coat.

Spa Pedicure at Home:

A spa pedicure is a pampering process which is quite hassle free and can be done easily at home. Feet are a body which you can take care of yourself.

Also, there is a kind of satisfaction doing it all by yourself. All you need to do is collect the required ingredients from a drug store and keep them ready.

Also remember a few things while doing DIY pedicure at home yourself- a spa pedicure is a refreshing process, so, create the right ambience at your home; two, do not tire yourself out while doing the pedicure.

Choose a room that you like and is quiet. Turn on some soothing music and nice aroma could also help. Also the tub with the warm water and your seat should be comfortable.

Use of Hot Towels in Pedicure:

The use of hot towels is very common in many beauty treatments.

A hot towel treatment

Use of the same in pedicure has become extremely popular in the recent past and is an ongoing trend. We are accustomed to the use of hot towels in case of hair treatments and hair spa.

A hot towel performs the same function in case of a spa pedicure as it does in hair spa.

The vapour which releases itself from the towel softens and replenishes the epidermal layer of the skin.

Spa Pedicure with Hot Towel:

The use of hot towel treatment was not in vogue until very recent past. But nowadays it has become quite of a trend. Glow girl Sarah Hoover says, I get a manicure and pedicure every 10 days. That’s great.

Hot Towel which rejuvenates the skin adds to the pampering of your feet. In case of a spa pedicure, the hot towel treatment can be done after scrubbing off the dead skin.

The treatment will soften the feet and will soften the nails as well, hence making the cuticle removing process easier and more comfortable.

A Hot Towel Treatment:

The pedicure treatment has to be carried out with care. There are two processes that can be followed. You can soak a pair of clean towels in warm water and drip the extra water or strain it.

Or, dip two towels in warm water and the microwave them for about 20 seconds. This will absorb the extra water and make the towels perfect for use.

Then, wrap the two towels around your feet so that they look like shoes. It is better if the nails also remain covered. Leave them for 10 minutes while you sit back and relax.

Push back the cuticles afterwards.

After all is over, just sit back and enjoy your happy feet experience!
